Review: Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop*

For years, I have been struggling with dark spots, sun damage and texture on my skin. And I couldn't use just any product. It has to be something that is light, gentle and yet extremely effective as my skin is picky and quite high maintenance. The product I have been using for the last 3-4 weeks to help with my textured skin and dark spots is the "Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drops". And again, 'Let's Face It' has truly saved the day with my skin, once again. It's not every day you come across something that checked all the boxes to what you want and it's all in this little bottle!

The Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drops is a watery and lightweight serum that aims to target the most common problemed skin types, such as acne scarring, enlarged pores, textured surfaces, pigmentation and dull complexion. With the power of Vitamin C, this serum claims to fix these problems as well as prevent signs of ageing by tightening and firming the skin. It also contains healing properties with any active acne as this serum promotes collagen production.

This serum is designed to be a daily supplement essence with a mix of 5% L-Ascorbic acid and Centella Asiatica extract, with citrus junos fruit extract, grapefruit extract and various root extracts. These combined is said to be one of the best formulations for treating problem skin across Korea.

Now Let's Face It has brought it into Australia, I had truly put it to the test!

The ingredients contained in this bottle is:
"Water, Propylen Glycol, Ascorbic Acid(5%), Hydroxyethylcellulose, Centella Asiatica Extract, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Illicium Verum(Anise) Fruit Extract, Citrus Paradisi(Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Polysorbate 60, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Chaenomeles Sinensis Fruit Extract, Orange Oil Brazil, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Disodium EDTA, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Camellia Sinensis Callus Culture Extract, Larix Europaea Wood Extract, Chrysanthellum Indicum Extract, Rheum Palmatum Root Extract, Asarum Sieboldi Root Extract, Quercus Mongolia Leaf Extract, Persicaria Hydropiper Extract, Corydalis Turtschaninovii Root Extract, Coptis Chinensis Root Extract, Magnolia Obovata Bark Extract, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Lecithin, Acetyl Glutamine,SH-Olgopeptide-1, SH-Olgopeptide-2, SH-Polypeptide-1, SH-Polypeptide-9, SH-Polypeptide-11, Bacillus/Soybean/Folic Acid Ferment Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol."
But the key ingredients to note in this serum is:
  1. Vitamin C – the main natural ingredient predominantly helps to lightens dark spots, dull skin, sun damage and pigmentation, minimises the appearance of pores, reduces acne scarring and enhances suppleness.
  2. Centella Asiatica Extract – a plant ingredient that promotes skin cells regeneration, healing and soothing of any acne and reduces redness.

As a quick disclaimer, (like I said earlier) I have only been using this product for 3-4 weeks religiously every night once a day. But the results have been noticeable after this period of time. I had used this product in conjunction to my moisturisers or other serums, almost like an additional skincare benefit to my skincare.

After a week, I had not noticed any big difference to my skin. It did bring radiance to my skin and my skin did look more supple but this could be achieved with any other moisturiser containing Vitamin C. This was incredibly disheartening and had almost unmotivated me to continue using this product. But I knew that the problems on my skin probably needed more time and I had to give the product some more faith and I was so glad that I did. After the end of the third week, I had then seen the pores around my cheeks started to become less noticeable and my dark spots from old scars or dried up pimples started to also be less noticeable when I wear my foundation on. The freckles on my skin though still are apparent and I haven't yet to notice a difference yet.

I am hoping with some time, the freckles and darker spots on my face will soon vanish!

When initially using the serum, I didn't enjoy the consistency of the product. It was almost like a dry oil that took forever to absorb into my skin. It got uncomfortable and at times, I didn't have the patience to leave it on my skin. But I had found other ways to make the product work which made my experience more pleasurable. You can either:
  1. Apply the serum directly on your skin (targeting your problem areas) and then let it just sit on your skin for about 1-2 minutes, when it has had the chance to absorb a little into the skin. Then spray some Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray all over your face and let it dry. This will definitely help your skin to absorb the product better.
  2. Or you can alternatively put 1-2 drops of the serum into your favourite moisturiser, creams or such and apply it to your skin as a mixture.
Both these methods work just as well to make the serum work better for you. But honestly, try the serum on its own first and see how you like it.

Besides the consistency of the product, the serum was great! It was light, gentle and very effective on my skin. I did some research and on average, it takes about 3-4 weeks for dark spots, pigmentation and sun spots to start vanishing. And the less sun exposure you have, the faster the process is. So having to keep this all in mind, this product did its job just right! I will definitely be continuing using this product and see if the results get better!

As always my beautiful people, thanks for visiting me and reading on my skincare journey! Leave a comment down below if you have tried this product!

Special Note:

"Klairs created this Vitamin C formula specifically so storing it in the refrigerator is not always necessary. However, it should be stored in a cool, dry and dark place, preferably left in the box packaging. You may store it in the refrigerator if you want, this will also help prolong the active ingredient, Vitamin C.
Slight discolouration may occur 2-3 months after opening however the Vitamin C will not lose its effectiveness. This serum should be used within 12 months of opening, any use after this timeframe may not be as effective."
