Avene Tolerance Extreme Range: Cleansing Lotion*

Some time ago this year, I was introduced to Avene through a hotel event. I got to know the brand and what they stand for and quickly fell in love. Their story starts in France and has now spread their reach to so many other countries, of which one of the lucky ones happen to be Australia! The brand is named after an old village located in the Orb Valley in France, centred in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Park. In this area, the environment is clean and untainted. It is a land that provided lush vegetation and climatic balance.

And I can see why the name is so relevant to the brand. The brand seeks to be our saviour is restoring our skin to the balanced and untainted state as it was when we were born. Our skin is exposed to so many substances, such as pollutants, radicals, sun rays... and so on, that over time put a toll on our delicate skin. Avene caters not just for one, two nor three... but all skin types! No matter if you have oily, dry, sensitive or reactive skin, Avene is safe to use on all.

Recently, I was sent some new products to try in the NEW Tolerance Extreme Range. The range is focused and designed to treat the needs of mild sensitive to hypersensitive skin with hydration in the simplest way possible. These products only contain the essentials, meaning that it only has eight core ingredients. In the range, it includes three new products. And over the course of my next few blog posts, I will review them to you.

One of the products that I've had the utmost pleasure of trying is the Avene Tolerance Extreme Cleansing Lotion. This lotion is one of the very few "non-rinse" formulas that actually work and does not irritate the skin. Most "non-rinse" cleansing formulas leave unwanted residues on the face, combining that of the impurities on your face that tend to cause your skin to react badly to it. These residues, if left on the skin for too long, cause you to have an uncomfortable wear on the skin. This cleansing lotion is extremely different!

The Avene Cleansing Lotion has a milky, moisturising consistency that is created to gently remove makeup and impurities, such as dirts and oils. It is used for both morning and night and works by having micro-thin lipid droplets that softly break down the impurities and gets carried away with the cleanser. You do not need to use any water to remove this product, which definitely saves a lot of time in comparison to your traditional cleanser.

Over time, you would see noticeable skincare benefits taking effect to your skin. This includes;

  • providing long-lasting hydration
  • offering a significant reduction to sensitivity (as it claims)
  • mimicking the function of healthy skin
  • preserving the hydration levels in your skin
  • providing cleaner and softer skin
On a personal note, I have been using this product religiously for the past week or so and have greatly enjoyed it. It is like no other cleanser I have ever tried. My cheeks tend to be quite sensitive, especially due to the constant changing weathers and my skin has never been more thankful. This cleanser is to be used to clean your wash and would potentially replace your regular cleanser. You would warm up the product between your fingertips and gently work the product in circular motions around your face and neck. Once you had a thorough spread over your face, you would use a cotton pad to remove the product from your face.

Each Avene Product has sterilising caps that help keep the product fresh and eliminates the use of preservatives in their products. This is a great way to remove any unnecessary ingredients that would affect sensitive skin. Avene have taken packaging to a new level and this is a great innovative way to conserve the integrity of the product for longer.

I highly recommend Avene and their New Tolerance Extreme Range if you have sensitive, reactive or super dry skin. Avene products will surprise you at how effectively and yet, gently can help your skin feel healthier! The Avene Tolerance Extreme Cleansing Lotion can be found in local priceline stores, or online for $47.95 of 200mL tube.  If you have any further questions, leave me a comment below!

Nude By Nature Eye Collection*

Nude By Nature (NBN) is an Australian brand that's bringing on their A-game into the market! They had wow-ed us with their packaging and I have been putting their formula to the test! And I'm happy to report, they're amazing! The new eye collection is inspired by the colours of Australia and its landscape. Australia is a country, true of its earthy colours and ocean shades. The colours selected captures nature's stunning skies, shimmering sands and deep water. There is a variety of rich, luminous shades and beautiful finishes across the range!

I had the opportunity to have a taste of these at a Priceline Prescription event that was held some time ago, and now that I have the whole collection, I have a better scope of how I feel about them. There is a range of products that had launched on the 15th September, going from eyeshadows, loose pigments, eyeliner, mascara and so on. Their collection includes all your essentials for creating your eye-look.

Natural Wonders Eye Palette - $49.95 AUD

This eye palette has a range of cool tones to warm tones, respectively across the rows and there is a pop of blue centred in the palette. NBN claims that the shadows have a feather-light formula, which is enriched with active natural ingredients, including Quangdong and Desert Lime to help provide antioxidant defence. The palette is encased in a luxury shiny, polished rose-gold case with a full-sized mirror, that makes you admire it every second. NBN has put in a lot of effort in making their collection presentable and beautiful.

First Row: (Left to Right) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Bottom Row: (Left to Right) 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
There is a total of 10 shades in this palette. There is a mix of matte, shimmer and satin shades that will help you create day-time to night-time looks. The shadows itself is pigmented and buttery to the touch and very easy to work with. They are able to be blended seamlessly with a brush and are great for quality. However, for the money that's being put into buying this palette, I do ask for quality in all the shadows. Shade 3 in the top row was a complete disaster. There no pigment to be shown, the product would not come out of the pan and it was extremely dry and hard. This one shade was very different to the rest of the palette in quality and functionality. It was quite odd.

The matte shades and shimmer shades in this palette, on the other hand, was a completely different story. They were a dream to work with. I especially liked shade 4 and 9, as they were just amazing to blend out and use. These shadows are not made to be wet, so by using any spray would greatly damage the product. It would harden the surface of the shadow and that particular shade would no longer be usable. Also, with the matte shades, you need to build the intensity up slowly and not pick up too much product in one go. The reason for this is because the matte shades can turn chalky and makes blending a lot more difficult to do.

What I also dislike about this palette is that the shades are coded by numbers, which may be quite ambiguous as the individual shadows are also named by numbers. But the problem is, the shadows aren't the same. Now, let's talk about the elephant in this post. For a palette that came is being sold in drugstores as well as marketed to be an affordable brand, this palette is quite expensive. But if you think about its overall value and make comparison to other high-end palettes such as UD, Smashbox, Bobbi Brown, this palette is actually a great buy. You get great quality and the variety of shades you need. They claim that this palette is "for on the go", but I personally don't think the palette is secure enough to last the trip.

Pressed Eyeshadow - $17.95 AUD

There is a total of 12 individual shadows released in this collection, of which includes 3 different types of finished; matte, satin and sheen. NBN claim that these are "richly pigmented, silky smooth and lightweight". There is a large variety of shades that maintain the Australian Nature theme.
Left to Right: 1, 2, 3, 4

Left to Right: 5, 6, 7, 8

Left to Right: 9, 10, 11, 12
Each of these individual pressed shadows are encased in a circular, rose-golden cases, similar to the eyeshadow palette. There is a small mirror inside, which I personally think is great! These individual shadows are user-friendly and travel-friendly as well, especially for those who are practicing the art of makeup.

Now, let's get down to business - quality!

Left to Right: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Left to Right: 5, 6, 7, 8

Left to Right: 9, 10, 11, 12
These shades are just remarkable. You are able to apply a smooth and effortless application to your lids without the fuss of fallout or patchiness. You receive great quality in the first go. The matte shades in the collection is what impresses me the most. They are pigmented and very easy to blend. They perform exceptionally well, and are very versatile from the way they are contained in the cases. Shades, such as 1, can be used as a brow powder or shades, such as 11, can be used as a highlight. The possibilities are endless and these shadows have the power to help you, do so. The shimmer shades are also astonishing to use. They are incredibly pigmented, buttery and smooth! All the shimmer shades in this collection perform beautifully! No faults or complaints from me!

However, there is one shade in the collection that had disappointed me - shade 8. Similarly to the problem I had with shade 3 in the eyeshadow palette, shade 8 did not want to work with me. It was extremely dry, hard and under-performing. There was no pigmentation coming from the pan and the more product I tried to get from the pan, the harder the surface became. And whatever product I got on my brush, the product had not wanted to stay on my skin. It was just being smeared. A primer was much needed and even then, it wasn't showing up.

Shimmering Sand Loose Eyeshadow - $22.95 AUD

These phenomenal loose pigments is what the drugstore needed! There is nothing like it on the market at this price! The Shimmering Sand Loose Eyeshadows are highly-pigmented. It has a blend of pigments and pearls to create that intense luminosity of bright colour. The formula is enriched with Kaolin Clay to help keep the colour in place for an extended wear.

What's great about these loose pigments is that they can be used in numerous ways. They can be used as a medium for a shimmering eyeliner, intense eyeshadow pigment, body shimmer and so on. They are very easy to mix in with other products to create a beautiful, shimmery product. There's 3 different shades that caters to a variety of skintones, going from warm-cool tone, light to darker skin. These pigments are very fine, and hence can be very messy (really quickly) when taken out of the bottle.

How I have been using it is by adding some Inglot duraline to some pigment and applying it as a liner or liquid shadow. When using it as a liquid shadow, there is minimal to little fallout and it is easier to control product placement. The doe foot applicator does help a little to place the product, but it does also cause a mess as well.

Natural Illusion Eye Shadow Trio - $29.95

These cute little pocket-sized palettes are a great addition to your collection. It contains three complimentary shades that you can use to create day-time or night-time looks. The quality of these shadows are exactly the same as the ones in the palette, but all the shades perform very well! They are pigmented, smooth and blendable. However, I personally think the shimmers could be a little bit more intense, so that it could be used as an overall lid colour, which serves best for a day time look.

Each trio contains a decently sized mirror and a double ended brush, which does not feel cheap. However, I personally think the brush is only good for applying the product to the lashline, smudging product to the bottom lashline or to be applied as eyeliner. But in terms of placing product to the lids, it is pretty useless.

Contour Eye Pencils - $16.95 AUD

Add caption
These Contour Eye Pencils are a great addition to the collection. There is a total of 6 shades to compliment the majority of skin tones with 2 different types of finishes; matte or sheen. They are densely packed with pigmented in a wooden exterior with a rose-gold coating. At the end of the pencil, there is a hard, pointed sponge used to blend and smudge the product. The formula in these pencils are made so that you can create both natural and dramatic eye looks with a few swipes.

Left to right, Top to Bottom: Black 01, Brown 02, Anthracite 03, Sunrise 04, Turquoise 05, Rainforest 06
These pencils are pigmented, creamy and smooth to use! It contains your basic colours such as your blacks and browns and they have other additional fun colours as well. I personally gravitated towards brown for a soft liner look for most days and use four as a fun pop of colour in the inner corner and wing. These pencils lasts all day and does not smudge. However, if you have oily eyelids, it may slip just a little, so you may need to use a power to set it in place. With the sheen finished pencils, it is a lot creamier and delicate than the basic solid colours, so you have to lighten the pressure when use it on your skin. But other than that, these pencils are great to use!

Definition Eyeliner ($24.95 AUD) & Allure Defining Mascara ($27.95 AUD)

The definition eyeliner has made applying eyeliner so easy! There is a total of two classic shades in the collection; black and brown. This product is pigmented, easy to use and long-lasting. The black isn't a strong solid colour but the brown is. The eyeliner itself is formulated so that it does not feather out into your fine lines and it does not smudge, nor transfer once set to dry. The liquid is not overly runny, nor dry. It is the perfect consistency to apply your liner with no troubles.

It has a flexible, ergonomic foam tip that helps you have control over product placement and quick application. It is able to retain product onto the tip and you can able to use more product for less. It is enriched with Pro Vitamin B5 to help nourish your eye area as well, which is great for all skin types!

The Allure Defining Mascara has a total of two shades as well; black and brown. It claims to give "intensified, lengthened and separated lashes in a quick second". I have short, sparse and straight lashes, so mascaras tend to be a more difficult subject for me to recommend to readers. This mascara is particular does not hold a curl over time. However, on application, it does lengthen and separate my lashes very well.  My lashes look fuller, looking natural and unclumpy. This mascara does not flake over time and it doesn't transfer either. From my knowledge, it doesn't claim to be waterproof or water-resistant. As you apply every cover, you notice that it coats each lash and create that lengthening effect, much needed for my short lashes. It does not claim to be volumizing and thats due to the applicator. It has a slight hourglass shape and short spiked bristles, which tells me what it can achieve for my lashes.

The flexible applicator is awesome to apply, especially when started from the root of your lashes to the very tip. The bristles allow you to coat every individual lash with ease and the formula also helps provide the colour/tint you need. The mascara contains active natural ingredients including Candelilla Wax and Arabic Gum, which allows the formula to be what it is. No matter how many coats you apply, this mascara does not clump. But I recommend only applying 2-3 coats at most as anymore you won't see anymore results. It is also enriched with Pro Vitamin B5 to condition and strengthen your lashes over time. I have not used this long enough to notice the effect as of yet.

Eyeshadow Brushes - $16.95 AUD

Left to Right: 16 Smudge Brush, 15 Blending Brush, 17 Angled Liner Brush, 14 Base Shadow
To compliment the eye collection, they have also launched some eye brushes along with the line. It contains four brushes you need to create your favourite looks with the NBN products. Similarly to their other brushes that NBN has recently released, the handles are coated in a dark, metallic exterior with a rubbery end. All the bristles are synthetic and are incredibly soft! They are incredible gentle on the eyes.
Personally I think they should have released out a flat shader brush so you could apply the loose pigments with ease. But I am quite happy with what they have released and been loving the way they make my application so easy to do. It practically does all the work for me with every swipe and blend. My personal favourite is 16 Smudge Brush. It works very well to blend liner across the lashline tightly and to also smokey out the bottom lash-line seamlessly.

This collection has been a great eye-opener to the brand and they have reveal themselves to be a brand that can deliver! All these products can be found at local Priceline stores or NBN Counters at Myers. If you have any further questions, please leave a comment below!

Viseart Theory Eyeshadow Palettes in Minx and Cashmere

You may have seen me (dare I say) gloating and flaunting these beauties on my instagram! It is the infamous Viseart Theory Eyeshadow Palettes. There is no surprise in my love for these palettes. They deliver top quality performance in pigmentation, blendability and everything else you can think of. Viseart is not a brand that you can get easy access to in Australia, but it is a brand that you don't want to be reckoned with. They infuse the quality of their products with integrity and innovation that was given life in Paris. These are great palettes for travel, carrying only your essential shades.

Each palette contains six shades; 3 mattes and 3 shimmers.
Viseart have also given you the power to customise and take control over the shades you wish to carry. Each pan is held down by a magnet, which you can depot or flip off the palette from the curved indent from the side. From research, you can also depot their original pans and insert them into these palettes as well, which to my knowledge the original sized pans are exactly same sized in weight as these pans. What's great about these palettes is that they're conveniently sized and very sturdy for travel with its hard cardboard covers and plastic containers.

Each palette comes in a cardboard sleeve for you to store and protect the exterior of the product. They also cleverly attached a small ribbon loop on the side of the palette for easy access. They are able to be bent and made into an easel, perfect for makeup artists on the go, which is normally the case. Or for those that work in a studio. These palettes do not take up a lot of space and it is easy for storage - either laying it flat on its back or stacked on its side.

What I dislike about these palettes is that there is no name reference or any kind of "labelling" system in place and there are just pans of shades, which indicates to me there is no possibility of shade refills for you to purchase - nor do I believe they plan to do so. For a convenient palette, this could be a huge inconvenience if you happen to run out of just one shade. You would have to purchase a whole new palette to obtain that one shade.

Minx (the swatches are upside down - description are based on the swatch order below)

Aside from its packaging, these palettes perform very well! In the "Minx" Palette, it contains very warm tone shades that are ideal for auburn to warm brunette hair and medium to deep skin tones. This one is my personal favourite and it is just perfect as an all-rounder palette. It's great for creating natural to full on glam looks.

Minx Shades

  • Top Row
    • First Shade: A light peachy, copper shimmer shade
    • Second Shade: A mid-tone orange, rose-golden shimmer shade
    • Third Shade: A muted shimmery browny-burgundy shade
  • Second Row
    • First Shade: A light, peachy matte shade
    • Second Shade: A medium-dark warm chocolate brown matte shade
    • Third Shade: A strong, dark reddish brown matte shade

Cashmere (the swatches are in the correct order of this picture)

In the "Cashmere" Palette, it contains very neutral shades that are ideal for blonde to brunette hair and fair to medium skin tones. These shades are great for night time glam looks or those sophisticated dark smokey eyes.

Cashmere Shades

  • Top Row
    • First Shade: A bright, light beige metallic sheen shade (my absolute favourite shade!)
    • Second Shade: A mid-tone taupey-brown shade with a muted metallic sheen finish
    • Third Shade: A deepened grey-tone taupe shade with a muted metallic sheen finish
  • Second Row
    • First Shade: A light beige semi-matte shade
    • Second Shade: A midtone-dark caramel brown matte shade
    • Third Shade: A strong, dark brown with a slight grey-taupe undertone
Each palette claims to have the power to have "unparalleled coverage, pigment and day long lasting power", which I strongly agree with. Especially with the matte shades, they are one of the best eyeshadows on the market and is very comparable (if not on par with brands such as Tom Ford, MUG...etc). They are very pigmented (both with a brush and with your fingers), buttery and smooth and incredibly lightweight. The formula in the shadows are just phenomenal to work with. There is little kick up of powder and you need the littlest product to get the colour that you need.

These palettes are, in my opinion, one of the best designed palettes for what little pans it contains. Each palette contains shades that are not just ideal for your essential eyeshadow looks but also for contour, highlight, liner and brow definition. If you are just the average consumer, this palette just cut down 50% of the products you need to create the look you need. It contains shades that coordinate perfectly to the shades you need, consisting of one base shade, a transition, a deepening shade and three variations of shimmers to change up your look. What more do you need? You can create classic subtle looks or turn to produce a bold, dramatic night time look. The possibilities are limitless.

Each pan contains almost 2 grams / 0.07 oz. of product and the whole palette (individually) comes to a total of approximately $58 ($45 USD) depending on where you purchase this product. If you make a comparison to its brothers and sisters (the Viseart Eyeshadow Palettes), it would work out to be more expensive. However, the shimmers in the original palettes are of a different quality and do not perform in the same way as the shimmers possessed in these palettes, oddly enough. They are not pigmented, hard to show up colour and just of a different nature. I personally think you get your money's worth in this palette, where you can reliable top performance on all shades, without compromising for quality. A great palette for the professionals and the modern woman! Let me know your thoughts and opinions and if you have any questions, leave a comment down below!

Specks of Gold: Ep 3 - Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturiser*

Episode 3 of my "Speck of Gold" feature is on the Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturiser. Jergens is a brand that was mainly developed in the US brought to the Australian market, especially seen in Priceline stores. It is a skincare company that is famous for their moisturiser collection, but they also look after every inch of your body, from your feet to your hands. This includes tanning products, cleansers, moisturisers, hand creams and so on. They have produced products for all skin types for any time of day, for all ages.

My skin now has a new friend. A long time friend! The Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturiser has been a great addition to my skincare routine. It has replaced most of the drugstore moisturisers on my nightstand and I have not even looked back. It does everything you need in a moisturiser and more! The greatest thing about this product is not only its performance on the skin, but its price point! Getting smooth and healthy has never been easier!

This moisturiser is best to be used on the body where it can fix and repair heavy duty dryness on the skin. It is especially great for dry areas such as the heels, elbows, and knees. I personally suffer my dry skin on my elbows, the palm of my hands, my feet and my legs and this product has helped me overcome the dryness. This day moisturiser claims to repair, heal and nourish the driest of skin and help bring forth visible luminosity and good health to your skin.

It feels just like any other moisturiser when released from the pump. It is quite lightweight after you apply an adequate amount onto the skin. It comes out as a white opaque liquid and becomes transparent when rubbed into the skin. It absorbs very quickly after spending a few minutes working the product. After the product has absorbed into the skin, you would only notice the product on your skin if it's on your hands due to the slight slip residue. Other than that, you wouldn't notice it at all. It feels very nice on the skin and has a gentle smell.

Looking at the "before" demonstration above, my skin was quite dry and flakey on the palms of my hands. It was the same on my legs and my elbows, as well. Nothing could really help my skin for long term at an affordable price. I didn't want to constantly buy expensive products, knowing that I can buy something from the drugstore that can do the same. But it's a struggle! Because you won't find it in the sea of brands. I am constantly testing out new products and nothing did the trick for the longer period of time. At the drugstore, you would have hits and misses and by that time, you would have wasted your money, where you could have spent it on the right luxury brand. But now I am helping you cut to the chase and end your search.

This product had greatly improved the texture and radiance on my skin instantly. After a week, I felt my skin feeling "normal" and it was feeling normal for longer. It is now feeling a lot youthful and healthy, throughout the day and I always have this bottle on my nightstand and apply it every morning. It has that elasticity that my skin once had and my skin doesn't feel easily irritated, either. You can also use this on your face, but I honestly think it is too rich and concentrated for the face. The face is a delicate area and requires a different type of attention and care. But it may work for you if you have overly dry skin.

This product contains a unique illuminating ingredient hydralucence blend which is part of their new ingredient in their newly formulated products. This new technology they have included works to provide long-lasting hydration that your skin needs, not just for the quick fix, but for long term as well. It helps to enhance the skin tone, texture and luminosity of your skin for all ages and skin types. It quickly eliminates dullness and dryness to the skin by giving your skin what it needs. It also has help with other ingredients, such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Vitamin B5 to maintain the great skin, you want and need. How this product works is that it penetrates through 5 layers of your skin and works from the inside out. The problem must first be fixed from the inside first before, you can start to notice a great difference in your skin. This by all means, does not replace water. Water is the essence of hydration but this product would be a great asset to your skin.

There has been nothing on the market that is is effective and yet, affordable to treat my skin. At times, spending more doesn't necessarily mean it is better. And the Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturiser proves just that. It is available in priceline stores or on their website at They have 4 available sized bottles ranging from 100mL to 650mL, at $5.99 to $12.99. Priceline is constantly having sales on these products and you can definitely get a bargain out of these if you get them at the right time. Definitely give these a go if you are like me struggling to find the right product to fix the dryness to your skin. Leave a comment down below if you want to know more! But at this price, there's no harm in trying!

*Disclaimer: These products were gifted to me, but I was not sponsored, nor compensated for this post. I was not obliged to make a post. It was in my own and my reader's best interest to do so. All opinions and thoughts were based on my personal experience. Everything said is 100% honest and based on my personal experience with the products and the brand. Mac Cosmetics Star Trek Collection*

MAC Cosmetics have released a new collection makeup inspired by the new movie for Star Trek. Mac Cosmetics is a brand that not only supports the everyday woman, but as well as makeup artists for both theatre and drama. Mac Cosmetics help supply artists with the essential tools they need to create detailed and effective makeup that transforms people into movie characters. They have been around for so long and is one of the first high-end brand that I had a pleasure of getting to know and starting off my interests in beauty.

With the release of the sci-fi movie, Mac Cosmetics have released a whole range of makeup to celebrate the new movie and this includes lipsticks, eye pressed pigments, lip glass... and so on. In this post, I'll be talking about some of the products that I got the honour of trying.

Lipstick - $40 AUD

There is a total of four shades that was released in this collection. Three of which are frost finishes and one (in the shade 'Where No Man Has Gone Before') in a lustre finish. From trying the frost finishes, they are a little drier in comparison to their original line. Due to the high metallic quality to these lipsticks, the lipsticks was compromised in the slightest way. They still remain to be very smooth and easy to apply, even with the metallic quality each of the shades have. The lipsticks are non-drying, and comfortable to wear and it doesn't accentuate fine lines/dry skin. Since it is a frost finish, it is not highly pigmented but it is very buildable. So you can add this as a topper on top of another lipstick, or you can build on the colour to your desired intensity.
Left to Right: LLAP, Klingiton, The Enemy Within

  • LLAP - A icy rose golden, champagne frost shade
  • Klingiton - A deep purple frost shade with strong pink pigments
  • The Enemy Within - A true yellow-golden shade

Superslick Liquid Eyeliner - $40 AUD

One of my favourite items from the Star Trek Collection is the Superslick Liquid Eyeliner. It is pigmented, smooth and long-lasting! It is a water-resistant eyeliner that is water-based that allows you to create a sharp wing due to its precise applicator. Like most liquid eyeliners, it may be hard to control at first but with type eyeliner, you are able to create a delicate line, especially great for drawing intricate details on the face. You are able to make a thin, fine line or a dramatic bold line dependent on the pressure you lay on the tip of the eyeliner.

Left to Right: On the Hunt, Pure Show

There is a total of three shades that were released - Nocturnal which is a bright, silver pearlescent liner, Pure Show which is a bright, golden pearly shade and On the Hunt which is a strong, demi-matte black shade. What's great about this collection is the silver and gold shade. Normally with these kind of liners, you would not achieve to get a strong pigment when it comes to the glittery shades. You would have to continuously reapply and add more layers to create the intensity that you would like. But with these, you don't have that struggle. The thin applicator also helps to place as little or as much product as you want. I can why these liners were added to the collection, being able to help MUA create such beautiful designs on the face.

Pressed Pigment Eyeshadow - $44 AUD

These lustrous pressed pigment eyeshadows are subtle to the touch yet don't be fooled by this. These eyeshadows have the versatility to do so many things due to its nature to be subtle and yet, pigmented all at the same time. If you want a sheer to subtle hit of colour onto the lids, you can just dab some pigment onto the lids, but if you want its true nature of its high intensity, you would spritz some Mac Fix Plus and you would see the magic come to life. This can also be used as a topper or as an eyeshadow, the ball is in your court when it comes to these.

Left to Right: The Naked Time, Bird of Prey

  • The Naked Time - a slightly deeper, high shine champagne shade (when wet) and a bright champagne shade (when dry).
  • Bird of Prey - a olive green, emerald shade (when dry), a deep, shiny olive shade (when wet)

Lipglass - $39

These lipglass aren't my cup of tea. It claims to be a reflective pigment lip gloss that is edgy and have pearlescent qualities. From the collection, all four shades that were released have metallic finishes to keep in line with the inter-galactic theme. They all have an easy to apply applicator with a transparent tube to expose the colour of the gloss. In terms of its formula, it is too thick for my liking. Mac Cosmetics need to change the formula of their lip glosses so that it is more comfortable to wear and lighter on the lips. In today's market, I can tell you it is possible. Giorgio Armani, Nudestix, Shu Uemura have all proven that it can be done. On its own, I dislike the feel and texture but as a topper it wasn't so bad. It created a nice glossy look to the lips, while creating a fuller look.

Left to Right: Set to Stun, Warp Speed Ahead

  • Set to Stun - a light silver shade with holographic-like pearl pigments
  • Warp Speed Ahead - a deep plum shade with purpley-blue pigments

Lashes - $20AUD

One of my favourite characters in the new Star Trek Movie was Jaylah played by Sophia Boutella. She was a lost citizen stuck on a land that she did not belong in. She was in desperate need of an escape and in order for her to do that, she had to cooperate with the Star Trek Crew. Jaylah's character wasn't the only thing to admire, but also her makeup as well! What made her look unique, yet stunning was the lashes that was placed on her. It was fluffy, slightly wispy and very flared out. It looked beautiful on her.

These lashes are jaggeredly layered with two colours - black and blue - in a spiky, slighly slanted shape. Due to its slanted shape, it helps to elongate the eye shape, making it look longer and bigger at the same time. These set of lashes are not something you would wear everyday, but it is great to use for cinematic looks, such as the one used on Jaylah. Each set of lashes are encased in a plastic slide case for safe storage.

Mac Cosmetics had also released some other items, such as nail polish, mascaras and powders and they are all under the Star Trek inspired collection. They are now available for purchase on the Mac Cosmetic website or at Mac Cosmetic Counters. If you guys have any further questions, please leave a comment down below!
