Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder in Bronze Glow Review

The highly anticipated highlighting powder by Bobbi Brown has finally hit our shelves and I am late to report to you guys about this amazing product! It has such a punch of illumination and glow that you can want to roll your whole face in it, so that the next planet can see you gleam like a star.

As you guys would know, I am a new fan of the Bobbi Brown range. I had first purchased the Eye-Opening Mascara and was astounded by the quality. So having this highlight was a must! It was just perfection in a box.

This compact hit the shelves and online just under a month ago and it has been circling around the social media (for good reason). There are two available shades, where it is recommended that "Pink Glow" is for light to medium complexions, where as Bronze Glow is more suited for medium to dark complexions. Bobbi Brown had previously released this compact before last year, but they had remodelled it.

The black, sleek and signature packaging of the plastic, square compact contains a decently sized mirror and a button-click closure. It is light, neat and quite travel-friendly. It does not challenge the little makeup space that I have and stores very nicely. When you open the product, you will see a tessellation of different sized squares imprinted as the design of the powder. It looks so elegant and beautiful to look at, but it had not changed from the old compact. (Though I am glad they had not changed it)

It claims that it is a "high-impact, light-reflective powder that gives the skin a shimmering bronze highlight and is perfect for the everyday strober." Its formula is very similar to the MAC Mineral Skinfinish Powders with the highly-reflective pearl pigments and with the specks of micro-shimmers that run through the product. The powder has a smooth, easy-to-blend and radiant texture that flatters the high points of your face, without settling into the fine lines.

However, this highlighter is very specific when it comes to its application. When using my usual Morphe 501 brush, I had noticed the product had completely scattered the product in an unmediated manner and almost all of my cheek was covered in it. It is recommended that you use a slightly more dense brush, such as the Zoeva 228 Crease Brush or the Sigma E40 Tapered Blending Brush to apply the product on. These types of brushes will give you precision, as well as the ability to blend the powder for a more flattering wear. You can apply this just above your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose and your cupid's bow for a more uplifted appearance. But I would not apply this near your eyes, as some of the particles, if not careful, would scatter inside.

The shade "Bronze Glow" is described to be a golden, copper shade with a peachiness hue to it. This highlight perfectly adds the perfect amount of warmth in a highlight and that summer glow to radiate in the sunlight. You can wear the Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder subtly or dramatically, depending on your preference as the formula allows you to build up to the intensity you want. It is also quite long-wearing for more than 6 hours, with no fading. Great highlight! Definitely two thumbs up from this girl.

You can grab your cult-favourite highlighting powder compact from Mecca Maxima, Mecca Cosmetica, David Jones, Adore Beauty or anywhere else that retails Bobbi Brown. It costs $80 AUD for each compact containing 8 grams of product. This box of fairy dust is just what you need to celebrate what's left of summer and your holidays (for the full-time students).
