Nudestix Intense Matte Lip and Cheek Pencil Range Review!*

Just about 2 weeks ago, some well-known beauty bloggers and instagrammers were invited to a casual meetup with Taylor Frankel (one of the co-founder of Nudestix) and Julie Pham (Nudestix Ambassador) to talk about some of their products, as well as introduce to us the New range of Intense Matte Lip and Cheek pencils. I had already heard of the new range and was over the moon to finally get a feel for myself.

With the Gorgeous Taylor Frankel

Taylor had spoken to us about their mission and story behind the brand and how going natural is the way to go for the modern woman. We are constantly stuck for time and don't have the luxury to spend a good 10-30 minutes to put on our faces and leave the house. To be quite frank, I would much rather sleep in for that time and begone. Jenny (Co-founder of Nudestix, mother of Taylor) had initially started the Nudestix line in her own home and had established a humble, growing company into a national sensation. I can say for sure I was beyond than surprised the multi-purpose capabilities of the nudestix pencils - from the magnetic eye to the lip and cheek pencils. They are just phenomenal.

Nudestix is a effortless and non-tedious collection of cosmetic crayons that caters to all your makeup needs. From your everyday concealer, eyeshadow stick to lip pencil, Nudestix shows you how to present the best version of you. You can just pop a few pencils in your bag and do it while you travel. Their products are filled with enriched ingredients such as vitamins, anti-oxidants and moisturisers, and yet giving you the hit of colour you want!

At the meet up, we were given the chance to play around with their entire range of products! And it was actually really fun bonding over such an amazing company. Here's some of the products and the mess we caused during the day.

Now to the star of the show - the NEW NudeStix Intense Matte Lip and Cheek Pencils!

the NEW Intense Matte Lip and Cheek Pencils

There are a total of eight shades in the range - 5 nudes and 3 berries, each pencil priced at $39 AUD. With each pencil (and any other product from their line), you will also have 'a collectible tin, with a convenient large mirror and a quality pencil sharpener' for on-the-go. They also include instructions on how the best way to apply the product, which is quite nice to have as well.

Note: The coloured-patterned tins are Limited Editions. Most products will be inside the standard black tins shown in this picture.

I find it to be so handy to have these tins! I just pop some of my favourite pencils inside and I'm ready to take on the day. There's a mirror to help with your application and the tins are decently-sized, so you can actually fit quite a few products for travel.

These pencils are multi-purpose products that act as a lip liner, lip stick and cream blush, perfect for the busy person. I have also tried using the nude shades as an eyeshadow base for my eyelids and it works just as well! The formula in these sticks are just out of this world, almost nothing like it on the market. It is non-drying and quite soft for a "matte"-claimed pencil. It is not high maintenance, in terms of dry lips and it is very creamy and smooth to directly apply.

To put these sticks to the test, I had worn it through all kinds of weathers and activities and have got to say, I am gobsmacked by its longevity - both on my face and lips! Nudestix claims that it is an "ultra-long wearing matte formula, which is waterproof, smudge-proof and non-feathering for up to six hours. Its intense pigment load and colour provides lips with maximum smooth opaque, rich colour pay off." Even though, they had claimed up to 6 hours, I had easily worn it, comfortably, for 8 hours on a casual day and it still remained on my lips, with a slight fading. Nudestix meant serious business when they created these miracle pencils.

I cannot find a single fault in them, beside that if I am not careful when putting back on the lid, the product gets damaged and smeared on the inside of the lid, creating a little mess. But that's just a clumsy consumer's user error. Note that you will have to carefully recap the lid back on the pencil, or else it will dry out the formula and it will not perform as well as it should.

These pencils are made without parabens, sulfates, volatile cyclomethicones and phthalates (which are naughty ingredients some cosmetic brands use to soften, preserve and so on, and are things you should steer away from). They are also gluten-free, preservative-free and the best part, cruelty-free! So pretty much, everyone is safe to use their products. Nudestix cater to all skin types and help all kinds of people look their best.

I was so happy with the products at the meet up that I just had to get myself some more! I grabbed every shade, except 'Tamed'.

Here are the swatches from left to right;

Entice - pale, neutral nude shade
Belle - plum, neutral nude shade
Kiss - pink, flesh-toned nude shade

Purity - natural, brown, flesh-toned nude shade
Raven - deep red, wine berry shade
Royal - a classic bold red, almost vintage
Stiletto - red-hot, bright cool-toned red shade

I am honestly set for life on these sticks and definitely in love! The best way to apply these sticks was suggested to use their Blur Pencil for a smooth application, after on moisturising or exfoliated lips. I normally just apply some lip balm on to the lips, let it settle and dry just a little and apply the Intense Matte Lip and Cheek Pencils on the lips. As a blush, I wouldn't suggest using it on top of powder, but rather on top of your foundation or natural skin, as this gives the most natural and perfect finish to the face. You can use a brush, after a few swipes on the the cheeks, to blend out the products for a sheer flush of colour, or you can directly apply on the cheeks and blend with your fingers for more intense colour.

The possibilities are endless with these pencils, as they can do so much! It's really how creative you want to be with them! These pencils are NOW available in-store only at Sephora, Australia but hurry, as stock will not last! You gotta get in quick or else you're going to miss out on one of the best things in life.

Also this Valentine's day, Nudestix is collaborating with a campaign called "Love is Louder" which was created by the Jed Foundation with actress Brittany Snow to support those that don't have a voice and have ever felt mistreated, misunderstood or alone. For every "kiss" or "love" lip and cheek pencil stick being sold, Nudestix will donate $5 to help the cause! So Join the Movement to make Love the loudest voice, this Valentine's Day!

I hope you enjoyed this recount/review of the Nudestix Intense Matte Range!

I was not paid or sponsored to talk about these products. This is my genuine thoughts on all the products. This post has not been compensated or compromised in any way. Belle and Royal was gifted to me at the meetup for my own personal use. My opinions and thoughts have and will always remain true to my own word - based on my own experiences. All the other products were purchased with my own money. All links provided are purely for reader's convenience and information only!
