Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow and Liner Palette* & GIVEAWAY!

This long cult favourite palette had hit the shelves for a while now and I have to ask... have I been living under a rock? This palette is incredibly versatile. It is a 3-in-1 palette that has all your essentials to highlight, colour and line your eye area. It contains amazing neutral shades that works to compliment a range of skintones and is absolutely amazing for the affordable price. Personally, I believe Physician's Formula makes one of the best highlight/shimmers on the market and this palette is no exception to that.

This palette has a cute, black lace exterior with a cute ribbon decor, with a plastic screen to expose the colours of the product. It has a total of 9 unnamed shades ranging from light to deeper shades of shimmer. There's a combination of pink, bronze, champagne and all your other typical highlight/shimmer shades included in the palette and these shades, I believe, compliment a large spectrum of skin tones.

Looking at the different shades provided, what you would notice is that the strips of shimmer are uneven and disproportionately sized. However, I believe this is a good thing dependent on what you mainly use this palette for. I personally love using this palette as a highlight shimmer brick, similarly that of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks. These blend of colours apply such a natural sheen to the cheeks. And hence, the ratios of the light to deeper shade is just perfect to provide the skin with that natural shimmer shade that isn't too dark when you swipe your brush across the surface of the product. As an eyeshadow palette, it does come at a disappointment if you happen to love one of the smaller shade.

This palette isn't restricted to just being used as an eyeshadow palette of single shades but it can be used as customised shades to create new colours. Each shade works well together so that you get that dimensional tone of shades as you blend and customise to your liking. The formula of this palette claims to be soft, pigmented and versatile for the everyday person. As mentioned, it is a 3-in-1 palette that can be used as an eyeshadow, liner and a highlight.

These shades are absolutely beautiful when worn on the skin. Not only is its use versatile, but the formula itself is as well. These shades can be used wet or dry. When wet, it offers the shades to have intense colour with ultra long-lasting wear and this means it can be used as a shadow liner. However, what I've noticed is, the more times I've used the product wet, the harder the surface become for the product and the opacity of the colour became less apparent when wet. So I suggest to pick up the product first, spray, then use the product to prevent the surface from hardening. When dry, the shadow provided a softer and subtle sheen to the skin and offered a more natural to radiant look.

There are so many ways to use this palette, that you just can't go wrong with it. These palettes can be found at your local Priceline store for an affordable price of $24.95 AUD. But.......... for my awesome and loyal readers, I'll be giving away 1 x Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow and Liner Palette!

Rimmel London x Kate Moss Limited Edition Anniversary Lip Collection*

Rimmel London is celebrating their 15th year anniversary on their partnership with the notorious Kate Moss. As part of this celebration, Rimmel has released a Special Limited Edition Lip Anniversary Collection that includes some classic red and nude shades in the range. From 2001, Kate Moss was the perfect embodiment of what the brand is all about - edgy, trendy and powerful!

The great thing about Rimmel London Lipsticks is that they always capture the very essence of what they are trying to achieve, whether it's a glossy finish, a bold matte or a traditional creamy lipstick, Rimmel London always do it so well. In this collection, Rimmel wanted to create a collection that really shows what Moss has done over the years including her runway hour to the boho goddess moments.

What attracted me most about these lipsticks is the gorgeous rose gold plastic packaging. It's elegant, yet edgy and so incredibly alluring!

Left to Right: 051 Muse Red, 052 Idol Red, 053 Retro Red, 054 Rock N Roll Nude, 055 My Nude, 056 Boho Nude
There is a total of six shades in the collection - 3 reds and 3 nudes. I believe there's a red and a nude for different skin tones.

Left to Right: 051 Muse Red, 052 Idol Red, 053 Retro Red, 054 Rock N Roll Nude, 055 My Nude, 056 Boho Nude

  • 051 Muse Red - A bright, classic red
  • 052 Idol Red - A orange, bright red
  • 053 Retro Red - A slightly burnt red with a purple undertone
  • 054 Rock N Roll - A pale, peachy nude shade
  • 055 My Nude - A light, orangey, peachy nude shade
  • 056 Boho Nude - A mid-tone nude shade with a slightly brown tone
These lipsticks are incredibly creamy, very smooth to apply and verrrrrrrryyyyyyyy pigmented! One swipe and so much colour is shown! These lipsticks, however, only need the smallest product to wear on the lips. Since it is very creamy, it does transfer and it does not wear well all day, so a reapplication is much needed. Assuming you do not eat or drink or disturb the product on your lips, it wears for 2-3 hours before you notice fading or uneven coverage.

Nonetheless, these lipsticks do hold great comfort when worn and it is not drying. It does in the slightest way accentuate dry lips, but not fine lines. It makes your lips look fuller due to its high-reflecting finish and look absolutely amazing when worn. My favourite shade in the range is 055 My Nude and 053 Retro Red. They represent the classic, traditional colours that Rimmel is well-known for.

These lipsticks can be purchased at your local drugstore or department store for $9.76 AUD (prices may vary from store to store and sale promotions). These lipsticks have intense coverage, high intensity vibrancy, smooth and creamy texture and high light reflecting finish. Great lipsticks to celebrate the 15th anniversary with Kate Moss and her success with Rimmel London.

Have you tried these lipsticks yet? Let me know your thoughts below!

Artiste Professional Brush Collection*

One of the newer discoveries I had made this year is that the drugstore is not like how it was before. Most brands are stepping up their games and are creating soft, gently synthetic brushes that are high quality for the average joe. This includes the newest additions of the Artiste Professional Brush Set. There is a total of 6 beautiful brushes that give such a luxurious feel and incredible texture when applied on the skin. These brushes are phenomenal and are extremely different to what had been offered in stores.

These brushes were designed to be everything you need in one complete range of brushes. However, please keep in mind that these brushes are sold separately and not as a bundle as most collections do. In this range, there is a brush for everything you need to create that flawless complexion, including contouring, powder, foundation, eyeshadow...and so on. Each brush does not have a "set" job, don't get me wrong, but they do provide names for easy reference.

Each brush has a beautiful golden, metal ferrule with a black matte, rubber-covered handle. It is absolutely stunning to look at, when sitting on your makeup desk. These brushes have absolutely no fall out after being washed and very sturdy! The ferrules, however, are prone to indentation so be gentle when tapping off the excess product.
Left to Right: A01 Mega Powder/Bronzer, A02 Blurring Foundation, A03 Soft Focus Blush, A04 Flawless Shadow, A05 Crease Brush & A06 Precision Smudge

A01 Mega Powder/Bronzer Brush - $39.95 AUD

My absolute favourite brush from the range! It is packed with soft synthetic bristles that help blend away any powdered products from bronzers, face setting powders, foundations... but it can also be used as a blush if you have a larger face and rounder cheeks. This brush features a large, round. slightly tapered brush shape that is perfect for an easy and quick airbrush application for all over the face.

A02 Blurring Foundation Brush - $26.95 AUD

Similar to the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, the A02 helps you to apply your base makeup perfectly. It is a versatile brush in terms of the numerous ways you can blend away your foundation with it. You can go in circular motions to spread out the product by buffing or by tapping the product like a sponge for that airbushed-finish. This brush features a dense, flat top with round edges that is smaller than the average foundation brushes on the market. I personally think this perfect is the perfect size to create versatility and functionality. I've used this for cream contouring/bronzing, as well as on those lazy days, to blend away my concealer as well! This brush will do about anything right with cream or liquid consistencies.

A03 Soft Focus Blush Brush - $26.95 AUD

I had my doubts about this brush, due to its size and shape. But after giving it a go, I was blown away at how easy applying blush could be! This brush gave an effortless and quick application within seconds. The tapered, fluffy shape of the brush allows you to have precision, as well as a light application. Blush is not something you want to be heavy-handed with and this product helps you gradually build up colour by sweeping the product from the apples of your cheeks towards the top of your ear.

A04 Flawless Shadow Brush - $19.95 AUD

Another favourite of mine! This brush is the ultimate "everyday" brush you need to do it all, in terms of eyeshadow application. In my opinion, it is the most handy because it is able to blend, displace as well as press eyeshadow on to your eyelid. And this is due to its flat, dense, slightly-tapered and thin shape. The shape of the brush allows you to do all your eyeshadow steps with one brush by just turning the brush to different angles for different applications. If you would like to blend away a transition colour in the crease, you would turn the brush so that you have the flat side touching the skin and sweep the product back and forth. If you like more precision, you can also turn it so it is on its thinner side and sweep. This brush is also perfect for providing precision when highlighting as well, especially in areas such as down the nose bridge.

A05 Crease Brush - $19.95 AUD

This brush is not my cup of tea for what its recommended for blending shadow in the crease but I find this brush to be perfect to blend and displace concealer, especially for spot concealing. The A05 has a dense, round and slightly tapered edge (like a smaller size of the A02) which I believe would also be great for cream eyeshadow. Cream Eyeshadow requires a dense and compact brush that would do the job easier and faster and this brush does just that! I use my Maybelline Tattoo Cream Eyeshadows with these and they work amazingly!

A06 Precision Smudge - $19.95 AUD

The A06 is the smallest brush in the range. Artiste suggests that this brush can be used to smudge product across the eyes with precision due to its small shape. I personally think it is too small to smudge eyeshadow on the lower lashline and too small to smudge eyeliner on the upper lashline, but it does provide great smudging precision. I personally use this brush to apply my brow powder. It is able to apply the product exactly where I want it without compromising the sharpness of the edges. It is almost great to apply any other brow product as well, such as pomade. It just has that small, flat, precise paddle shape that is much needed.

Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room... the price. Yes, it is indeed pricey and is in par with high-end brushes such as Sigma Beauty, Zoeva Cosmetics... and so on, but you must keep in mind, Artiste has also a more affordable range that would fit to a person with a smaller budget. This range is to showcase the high quality, professional makeup brushes by Artiste and what they can offer as their best! And I believe this is a great all-rounder range of brushes that offer quality comfort, extremely softness and sturdiness. The rubbery, matte handles are the perfect touch to the brushes and are quite easy to clean once dirtied. This brushes can only be found at Priceline in-store and are all sold separately!

If you have any further questions about the brushes, leave a comment down below! Stay tuned for my next post, as I will be doing another giveaway with the next product I am reviewing!

Avene Tolerance Extreme Range: Emulsion*

Avene's second item in the NEW Tolerance Extreme Range is the Emulsion moisturiser. It is my personal favourite in the range and has been a complete godsend in my books. It is a fantastic item you can throw into your bag. It is designed to hydrate normal to combination skin.

This product is very lightweight, milky and gentle. It is a new fusional daily moisturiser that hydrates and soothes at the same time. It absorbs into the skin quickly, while leaving your skin feeling fresh and breathable. This emulsion can be used for both day and night. It works to replenish the moisture levels that your skin is greatly lacking and bring back life. It provides long-lasting hydration for about 6 hours.

All their products keep to a minimum of a few core ingredients to maintain the integrity of the product and to minimise the adverse effects of unnecessary and unwanted ingredients such as preservatives, parabens, fragrances...and so on. The great thing about this product is that it is gentle enough to be used on extreme sensitive skin. For example, it claims it can be used after dermatological procedures, peels or laser treatments. This product will restore the moisture back into your skin and help the skin to heal, minimising scarring.

I have been using this around my cheeks, and it has been working very well! With the combination of the cleansing lotion and this moisturiser, my sensitive skin is able to tolerate the changing weathers without the fuss. The fusion of the two products with ultra-fine textures, provide the skin with the utmost respect. It does not leave any unwanted, lingering residue, which is proven to cause irritation and increased sensitivity. This product contains large quantities of the Avene Thermal Spring Water which help soothe irritated skin, while hydrating the skin for balanced skin.

This product is to be used after cleansing and is best applied after the Avene Tolerance Extreme Cleansing Lotion (click the link for more information on it) and before the Avene Thermal Spring Water. Similarly to the cap in the cleansing lotion, each Avene Product has sterilising caps that help keep the product fresh and eliminates the use of preservatives in their products. This is a great way to remove any unnecessary ingredients that would affect sensitive skin. Avene have taken packaging to a new level and this is a great innovative way to conserve the integrity of the product for longer.

Essence Matt Matt Matt Lipstick*

The drugstores better be ready for a new strong contender! Essence is bring in new guns into the drugstore field and they're not playing games. The New Essence Matt Matt Matt Lipstick is just phenomenal! It's extremely affordable and it is proof that Essence can bring the drugstore game for under $5!

What I find most amazing about these lipsticks is the creaminess and texture of these lipsticks. They are extremely comfortable to wear. The best way I can describe these lipsticks is that they're a cross between a creamy matt lipstick and a sheer lipstick. It has the colour of a matt lipstick, with its buildable colour but it has the creamy, smooth texture of a sheer lipstick. These lipsticks are part of their permanent collection and I am so glad that they are here to stay for the long haul.

Each lipstick comes in a circular twist up, traditional lipstick tube, with a semi-transparent, matte lid, similar to that of Maybelline Lipsticks. I actually really enjoy the packaging of these lipsticks in comparison to their current range. It looks more appealing and something that I definitely see being a big hit in stores!

Left to Right: 02 Perfect Match, 07 Purple Power
Left to Right: 02 Perfect Match, 07 Purple Power
These lipsticks claim to be a light, creamy textured lipstick that unites a high colour-dispersion with a matt finish. When I had heard the name and saw the emphasis on "matt", I expected a complete matte finish but these lipsticks have a satin to demi matte finish. After the first few seconds of application, it has a satin finish like most traditional lipsticks on the market are like. But after a minute or two, it dries down into a demi matte finish. It has a slight shine to it when reflected in certain lights.

I enjoy the comfortable feel it has on my lips but with the darker shade, it did accentuate my dry areas and the more I applied, the product started to build onto the dry areas, as creamy formulas do. The nude shades are more flattering to wear when having chapped or dry lips, as it doesn't show as much This however, does not indicate that the formula is drying or anything, it's just makes it more apparent of my dryness. I suggest when wearing the darker shades, you wear it over a lip pencil to increase the longevity of the colour and ease of application.

These lipsticks lasts for about 5 hours, without eating or drinking. But let's be honest, I'm constantly doing both and these lipsticks needed to be reapplied after it gets disturbed - which I don't mind at all.  One of the best things about this as well is the amazing sweet smell! I cannot stop smelling it from the tube.

Essence is the most affordable brand on the market keeping these lipsticks at a low cost of $4.70 AUD for each lipstick! That's just under $5 and you get such a great performing lipstick that gives you rich colour that feels absolutely comfortable on the lips. It's creamy and smooth and what you need to add to your handbag! It can be found anywhere that stocks up Essence products, such as Priceline.

These lipsticks are being released with some new items from Essence as well as part of the Spring and Summer launches in Australia. In this release, it includes some new products such as the Extreme Lasting Eye Pencil, the Rock N Doll Duo Stylist Eyeliner Pen, the False Lashes Dramatic Volume Mascara, the Matt Matt Matt Lip Gloss and so on... I am excited to get the chance to try all of these products.

YSL Vinyl Cream Lip Stain*

There's nothing better than finding the perfect lip product that works all year round. I am absolutely obsessed and addicted to the NEW YSL Vinyl Lip Creams! They are just the perfect range of colours that does it all for your lips. It provides great colour, all-day wear and maximum comfort to create natural to dramatic, versatile looks! They have just launched on the shelves are are just phenomenal! A definitely must have for every pair of lips!

Just recently I attended a masterclass with YSL and they had informed us of the new trends and techniques on how we can wear our lip. The current, popular colour is no longer the Marilyn Monroe classic red, but now it is oxblood, which a slightly deeper tone of red from what we used to know and love. The theme of the event was "I dare you" which motivated us to get out of our comfort zone and try out new ways to compliment the lips. They had showed us four ways to wear a lip colour;

  1. Daring Lips - applying on the upper and lower lips, from the outer corners and going inwards. Allow to dry and repeat for second layer (Recommended with YSL Rouge Pur Couture Verneis A Levres)
  2. Couture Lips - colour your upper lip from the outer corner to the cupid's bow. Then you apply colour to the lower lip from the outer corner going inwards (Recommended with YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick)
  3. Glowy Lips - colour your upper lip from the corner to the cupid's cow. Then you repeat for lower lips (Recommended with YSL Volupte Tint-in-Oil)
  4. Baby Doll Lips - colour the upper lip from the corner to the cupid's bow. Apply onto the lower lip from the outer corner to the centre of the lips (Recommended with YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush Lip)

YSL is such an innovative and luxurious brand that knows how to deliver great quality lip products and the new YSL Lip Vinyl Creams are no exception. There is a total of 12 colours in the range - with a variety of pinks, nudes, reds and mauve tone colours. Each tube of delivers a great hit of colour that offers high coverage and strong pigmentation. When worn on the lips, it is extremely comfortable and has a shiny finish. It makes you have the appearance of more plump lips as well. It is able to be worn all day with no trouble! It does transfer, as it does not completely dry down but it stains the lips, so even if you had eaten, you will have a nice colour left on your lips which makes this product so long lasting. It claims to have a 10 hour stain and it just looks incredible as a stain and on application. The best way I can describe this product is by calling it a creamy stain - almost like a lacquer but with a lighter formula. It is not drying and does not accentuate the dryness of your lips.

Left to Right: 406 Orange Electro, 407 Carmin Session, 410 Fuchsia Live, 411 Rhythm Red
With these YSL Lip Vinyl Creams, you can either lightly apply some colour on the upper lip and press your lips together to get a light hit of colour for that more natural effect or you can build up the colour for a more intense bold colour. The possibilities are endless when it comes to YSL. You can even apply the Korean Lip Ombre by focusing the colour on the centre of your lips, pressing your lips together and blending out towards the outer edges.

Not only did YSL make the formula an easy thing, but they also made the application of the user easy as well! These Lip Vinyl contain a diamond shaped application that allows a flawless application as you glide the smooth product across the lips. There is no streaking nor uneven application. The tip of the application also helps you to stay within your lips and help you be precise and have 100% control over your application.

Every YSL Vinyl Lip Creams are packaged in rectangular, sleek, polished tubes that have the signature, golden logo on each product. Each lip product retails for $55 AUD. Indeed it is a big price for a lip product, but it's absolutely something that you need to try for yourself. The price meets the quality expectations and very much worth its price. There is absolutely no flaw in this product and only perfection! You can purchase these now at any YSL counter at Mecca Maxima or David Jones.

They are high quality lip products that deliver high pigmentations, buildable colour, 10-hour stain and 100% comfortable wear! If you dare, why not #playthevinyl with these lip products and give them a try!

Avene Tolerance Extreme Range: Cleansing Lotion*

Some time ago this year, I was introduced to Avene through a hotel event. I got to know the brand and what they stand for and quickly fell in love. Their story starts in France and has now spread their reach to so many other countries, of which one of the lucky ones happen to be Australia! The brand is named after an old village located in the Orb Valley in France, centred in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Park. In this area, the environment is clean and untainted. It is a land that provided lush vegetation and climatic balance.

And I can see why the name is so relevant to the brand. The brand seeks to be our saviour is restoring our skin to the balanced and untainted state as it was when we were born. Our skin is exposed to so many substances, such as pollutants, radicals, sun rays... and so on, that over time put a toll on our delicate skin. Avene caters not just for one, two nor three... but all skin types! No matter if you have oily, dry, sensitive or reactive skin, Avene is safe to use on all.

Recently, I was sent some new products to try in the NEW Tolerance Extreme Range. The range is focused and designed to treat the needs of mild sensitive to hypersensitive skin with hydration in the simplest way possible. These products only contain the essentials, meaning that it only has eight core ingredients. In the range, it includes three new products. And over the course of my next few blog posts, I will review them to you.

One of the products that I've had the utmost pleasure of trying is the Avene Tolerance Extreme Cleansing Lotion. This lotion is one of the very few "non-rinse" formulas that actually work and does not irritate the skin. Most "non-rinse" cleansing formulas leave unwanted residues on the face, combining that of the impurities on your face that tend to cause your skin to react badly to it. These residues, if left on the skin for too long, cause you to have an uncomfortable wear on the skin. This cleansing lotion is extremely different!

The Avene Cleansing Lotion has a milky, moisturising consistency that is created to gently remove makeup and impurities, such as dirts and oils. It is used for both morning and night and works by having micro-thin lipid droplets that softly break down the impurities and gets carried away with the cleanser. You do not need to use any water to remove this product, which definitely saves a lot of time in comparison to your traditional cleanser.

Over time, you would see noticeable skincare benefits taking effect to your skin. This includes;

  • providing long-lasting hydration
  • offering a significant reduction to sensitivity (as it claims)
  • mimicking the function of healthy skin
  • preserving the hydration levels in your skin
  • providing cleaner and softer skin
On a personal note, I have been using this product religiously for the past week or so and have greatly enjoyed it. It is like no other cleanser I have ever tried. My cheeks tend to be quite sensitive, especially due to the constant changing weathers and my skin has never been more thankful. This cleanser is to be used to clean your wash and would potentially replace your regular cleanser. You would warm up the product between your fingertips and gently work the product in circular motions around your face and neck. Once you had a thorough spread over your face, you would use a cotton pad to remove the product from your face.

Each Avene Product has sterilising caps that help keep the product fresh and eliminates the use of preservatives in their products. This is a great way to remove any unnecessary ingredients that would affect sensitive skin. Avene have taken packaging to a new level and this is a great innovative way to conserve the integrity of the product for longer.

I highly recommend Avene and their New Tolerance Extreme Range if you have sensitive, reactive or super dry skin. Avene products will surprise you at how effectively and yet, gently can help your skin feel healthier! The Avene Tolerance Extreme Cleansing Lotion can be found in local priceline stores, or online for $47.95 of 200mL tube.  If you have any further questions, leave me a comment below!

Nude By Nature Eye Collection*

Nude By Nature (NBN) is an Australian brand that's bringing on their A-game into the market! They had wow-ed us with their packaging and I have been putting their formula to the test! And I'm happy to report, they're amazing! The new eye collection is inspired by the colours of Australia and its landscape. Australia is a country, true of its earthy colours and ocean shades. The colours selected captures nature's stunning skies, shimmering sands and deep water. There is a variety of rich, luminous shades and beautiful finishes across the range!

I had the opportunity to have a taste of these at a Priceline Prescription event that was held some time ago, and now that I have the whole collection, I have a better scope of how I feel about them. There is a range of products that had launched on the 15th September, going from eyeshadows, loose pigments, eyeliner, mascara and so on. Their collection includes all your essentials for creating your eye-look.

Natural Wonders Eye Palette - $49.95 AUD

This eye palette has a range of cool tones to warm tones, respectively across the rows and there is a pop of blue centred in the palette. NBN claims that the shadows have a feather-light formula, which is enriched with active natural ingredients, including Quangdong and Desert Lime to help provide antioxidant defence. The palette is encased in a luxury shiny, polished rose-gold case with a full-sized mirror, that makes you admire it every second. NBN has put in a lot of effort in making their collection presentable and beautiful.

First Row: (Left to Right) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Bottom Row: (Left to Right) 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
There is a total of 10 shades in this palette. There is a mix of matte, shimmer and satin shades that will help you create day-time to night-time looks. The shadows itself is pigmented and buttery to the touch and very easy to work with. They are able to be blended seamlessly with a brush and are great for quality. However, for the money that's being put into buying this palette, I do ask for quality in all the shadows. Shade 3 in the top row was a complete disaster. There no pigment to be shown, the product would not come out of the pan and it was extremely dry and hard. This one shade was very different to the rest of the palette in quality and functionality. It was quite odd.

The matte shades and shimmer shades in this palette, on the other hand, was a completely different story. They were a dream to work with. I especially liked shade 4 and 9, as they were just amazing to blend out and use. These shadows are not made to be wet, so by using any spray would greatly damage the product. It would harden the surface of the shadow and that particular shade would no longer be usable. Also, with the matte shades, you need to build the intensity up slowly and not pick up too much product in one go. The reason for this is because the matte shades can turn chalky and makes blending a lot more difficult to do.

What I also dislike about this palette is that the shades are coded by numbers, which may be quite ambiguous as the individual shadows are also named by numbers. But the problem is, the shadows aren't the same. Now, let's talk about the elephant in this post. For a palette that came is being sold in drugstores as well as marketed to be an affordable brand, this palette is quite expensive. But if you think about its overall value and make comparison to other high-end palettes such as UD, Smashbox, Bobbi Brown, this palette is actually a great buy. You get great quality and the variety of shades you need. They claim that this palette is "for on the go", but I personally don't think the palette is secure enough to last the trip.

Pressed Eyeshadow - $17.95 AUD

There is a total of 12 individual shadows released in this collection, of which includes 3 different types of finished; matte, satin and sheen. NBN claim that these are "richly pigmented, silky smooth and lightweight". There is a large variety of shades that maintain the Australian Nature theme.
Left to Right: 1, 2, 3, 4

Left to Right: 5, 6, 7, 8

Left to Right: 9, 10, 11, 12
Each of these individual pressed shadows are encased in a circular, rose-golden cases, similar to the eyeshadow palette. There is a small mirror inside, which I personally think is great! These individual shadows are user-friendly and travel-friendly as well, especially for those who are practicing the art of makeup.

Now, let's get down to business - quality!

Left to Right: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Left to Right: 5, 6, 7, 8

Left to Right: 9, 10, 11, 12
These shades are just remarkable. You are able to apply a smooth and effortless application to your lids without the fuss of fallout or patchiness. You receive great quality in the first go. The matte shades in the collection is what impresses me the most. They are pigmented and very easy to blend. They perform exceptionally well, and are very versatile from the way they are contained in the cases. Shades, such as 1, can be used as a brow powder or shades, such as 11, can be used as a highlight. The possibilities are endless and these shadows have the power to help you, do so. The shimmer shades are also astonishing to use. They are incredibly pigmented, buttery and smooth! All the shimmer shades in this collection perform beautifully! No faults or complaints from me!

However, there is one shade in the collection that had disappointed me - shade 8. Similarly to the problem I had with shade 3 in the eyeshadow palette, shade 8 did not want to work with me. It was extremely dry, hard and under-performing. There was no pigmentation coming from the pan and the more product I tried to get from the pan, the harder the surface became. And whatever product I got on my brush, the product had not wanted to stay on my skin. It was just being smeared. A primer was much needed and even then, it wasn't showing up.

Shimmering Sand Loose Eyeshadow - $22.95 AUD

These phenomenal loose pigments is what the drugstore needed! There is nothing like it on the market at this price! The Shimmering Sand Loose Eyeshadows are highly-pigmented. It has a blend of pigments and pearls to create that intense luminosity of bright colour. The formula is enriched with Kaolin Clay to help keep the colour in place for an extended wear.

What's great about these loose pigments is that they can be used in numerous ways. They can be used as a medium for a shimmering eyeliner, intense eyeshadow pigment, body shimmer and so on. They are very easy to mix in with other products to create a beautiful, shimmery product. There's 3 different shades that caters to a variety of skintones, going from warm-cool tone, light to darker skin. These pigments are very fine, and hence can be very messy (really quickly) when taken out of the bottle.

How I have been using it is by adding some Inglot duraline to some pigment and applying it as a liner or liquid shadow. When using it as a liquid shadow, there is minimal to little fallout and it is easier to control product placement. The doe foot applicator does help a little to place the product, but it does also cause a mess as well.

Natural Illusion Eye Shadow Trio - $29.95

These cute little pocket-sized palettes are a great addition to your collection. It contains three complimentary shades that you can use to create day-time or night-time looks. The quality of these shadows are exactly the same as the ones in the palette, but all the shades perform very well! They are pigmented, smooth and blendable. However, I personally think the shimmers could be a little bit more intense, so that it could be used as an overall lid colour, which serves best for a day time look.

Each trio contains a decently sized mirror and a double ended brush, which does not feel cheap. However, I personally think the brush is only good for applying the product to the lashline, smudging product to the bottom lashline or to be applied as eyeliner. But in terms of placing product to the lids, it is pretty useless.

Contour Eye Pencils - $16.95 AUD

Add caption
These Contour Eye Pencils are a great addition to the collection. There is a total of 6 shades to compliment the majority of skin tones with 2 different types of finishes; matte or sheen. They are densely packed with pigmented in a wooden exterior with a rose-gold coating. At the end of the pencil, there is a hard, pointed sponge used to blend and smudge the product. The formula in these pencils are made so that you can create both natural and dramatic eye looks with a few swipes.

Left to right, Top to Bottom: Black 01, Brown 02, Anthracite 03, Sunrise 04, Turquoise 05, Rainforest 06
These pencils are pigmented, creamy and smooth to use! It contains your basic colours such as your blacks and browns and they have other additional fun colours as well. I personally gravitated towards brown for a soft liner look for most days and use four as a fun pop of colour in the inner corner and wing. These pencils lasts all day and does not smudge. However, if you have oily eyelids, it may slip just a little, so you may need to use a power to set it in place. With the sheen finished pencils, it is a lot creamier and delicate than the basic solid colours, so you have to lighten the pressure when use it on your skin. But other than that, these pencils are great to use!

Definition Eyeliner ($24.95 AUD) & Allure Defining Mascara ($27.95 AUD)

The definition eyeliner has made applying eyeliner so easy! There is a total of two classic shades in the collection; black and brown. This product is pigmented, easy to use and long-lasting. The black isn't a strong solid colour but the brown is. The eyeliner itself is formulated so that it does not feather out into your fine lines and it does not smudge, nor transfer once set to dry. The liquid is not overly runny, nor dry. It is the perfect consistency to apply your liner with no troubles.

It has a flexible, ergonomic foam tip that helps you have control over product placement and quick application. It is able to retain product onto the tip and you can able to use more product for less. It is enriched with Pro Vitamin B5 to help nourish your eye area as well, which is great for all skin types!

The Allure Defining Mascara has a total of two shades as well; black and brown. It claims to give "intensified, lengthened and separated lashes in a quick second". I have short, sparse and straight lashes, so mascaras tend to be a more difficult subject for me to recommend to readers. This mascara is particular does not hold a curl over time. However, on application, it does lengthen and separate my lashes very well.  My lashes look fuller, looking natural and unclumpy. This mascara does not flake over time and it doesn't transfer either. From my knowledge, it doesn't claim to be waterproof or water-resistant. As you apply every cover, you notice that it coats each lash and create that lengthening effect, much needed for my short lashes. It does not claim to be volumizing and thats due to the applicator. It has a slight hourglass shape and short spiked bristles, which tells me what it can achieve for my lashes.

The flexible applicator is awesome to apply, especially when started from the root of your lashes to the very tip. The bristles allow you to coat every individual lash with ease and the formula also helps provide the colour/tint you need. The mascara contains active natural ingredients including Candelilla Wax and Arabic Gum, which allows the formula to be what it is. No matter how many coats you apply, this mascara does not clump. But I recommend only applying 2-3 coats at most as anymore you won't see anymore results. It is also enriched with Pro Vitamin B5 to condition and strengthen your lashes over time. I have not used this long enough to notice the effect as of yet.

Eyeshadow Brushes - $16.95 AUD

Left to Right: 16 Smudge Brush, 15 Blending Brush, 17 Angled Liner Brush, 14 Base Shadow
To compliment the eye collection, they have also launched some eye brushes along with the line. It contains four brushes you need to create your favourite looks with the NBN products. Similarly to their other brushes that NBN has recently released, the handles are coated in a dark, metallic exterior with a rubbery end. All the bristles are synthetic and are incredibly soft! They are incredible gentle on the eyes.
Personally I think they should have released out a flat shader brush so you could apply the loose pigments with ease. But I am quite happy with what they have released and been loving the way they make my application so easy to do. It practically does all the work for me with every swipe and blend. My personal favourite is 16 Smudge Brush. It works very well to blend liner across the lashline tightly and to also smokey out the bottom lash-line seamlessly.

This collection has been a great eye-opener to the brand and they have reveal themselves to be a brand that can deliver! All these products can be found at local Priceline stores or NBN Counters at Myers. If you have any further questions, please leave a comment below!
